  • 500 g quark (low-fat quark)
  • 2 egg (s)
  • 200 ml semolina
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • Flour
  • 100 g suar
  • 100 g breadcrumbs
  • butter
  • jam

Instructions

  1. Mix the quark well with the semolina, eggs and a pinch of salt, knead and let steep for at least 30 minutes. Shape the dough into dumplings, dusting your hand with a little flour if necessary so that it doesn`t stick. Alternatively, shape the dumplings with a large spoon. Immediately slide the formed dumplings into a large pot of boiling water. As soon as the dumplings float, they`re ready. Melt the butter in a pan and lightly brown the sugar and breadcrumbs in it. Be careful not to let it burn. Roll the finished dumplings in the pan with the crumbs so that they get a crumbly crust. Serve immediately warm with jam. Rosehip jam (Hetschenpetsch) goes best, apricot jam also works well.
