Meat Cake, or Filled Cutlet

I am sure that simple recipes are the most delicious! And today – just like that. Minced meat casserole with potatoes and cheese. The products are affordable – you can’t imagine any easier, it’s easy to prepare! And the result is a very effective, aromatic, and tasty dish! Cook for health!

Ingredients

  • Minced meat – 1 kg
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Dried garlic – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Bread crumbs – 70 g

For the filling:

  • Boiled potatoes – 4-5 pcs.
  • Hard cheese – 150-200 g
  • Fresh dill – a couple of twigs
  • Tomato sauce (any) – to taste
  • Processed cheese – 2-3 plates
  • Vegetable oil – for lubricating the workpiece

Directions

  1. Let’s start cooking with the meat base and grate the onion on a coarse grater. Add the minced meat.
  2. Add garlic and coriander (you can substitute your favorite spices), salt, crackers, and eggs.
  3. Mix everything well and let the minced meat stand for 30 minutes so that the meat absorbs the aroma of onions and spices.
  4. For the filling, we need boiled potatoes, cheese, and a little dill. Boil the potatoes in their uniforms, cool, and peel them. Cut the potatoes into slices. Rub the cheese on a grater. Finely chop the dill. We turn on the oven, heat it up to 190 degrees.
  5. Cover a large cup (I have a glass one) with cling film. We spread 2/3 of the minced meat along the bottom and sides, forming a meat bowl. Do not make the walls too thin so that they will not burst when baked. Put some cheese on the bottom of the meat bowl. Put potato slices on the cheese.
  6. Sprinkle with cheese again and a little dill on top. If the cheese is not salty enough, you can add salt.
  7. So, layer by layer, alternating cheese, dill, and potatoes, fill the bowl. From the remaining 1/3 of the minced meat on the film, make a thick cake. Cover the stuffed meat bowl with it and carefully join the edges.
  8. We transfer the meat blank to a baking dish (I have a cast-iron frying pan today). Cut out a circle of parchment around the dia of the pan – it will be easier to transfer the workpiece and the minced meat will not fry during cooking. Cover the minced meat with parchment and turn the blank over into the pan. Carefully remove the glass cup and film and grease the meat preparation with vegetable oil.
  9. We bake the minced meat “cake” with potatoes and cheese at a temperature of 190 degrees for 40 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove from the oven, grease on top with tomato sauce (I have homemade), cover with slices of processed cheese (you can sprinkle with the rest of the grated cheese), and send the meat casserole to the oven for another 10 minutes.
