Ingredients

  • 2 packs fish (herring)
  • 1 sour apple (Boskop)
  • 3 egg (s), cooked
  • 1 cup natural yogurt
  • 1 cup cream
  • 3 tablespoon Miracel Whip
  • 3 medium pickled cucumber (s)
  • 1 onion (s)
  • salt and pepper
  • vinegar

Instructions

  1. Rinse the herring under warm running water. Dice the herring, apple, pickled cucumbers, and cooked eggs into bite-sized pieces. Slice the onion thinly. In a large bowl, combine all the diced ingredients and sliced onion. Pour roughly 2-3 tablespoons of the brine from the pickled cucumbers over the mixture.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the Miracle Whip, yogurt, and cream. Season with salt and pepper and add a splash of vinegar.
  3. Pour the sauce over the herring mixture. Stir well to combine. Cover and refrigerate overnight (at least 8 hours).
  4. Serve with jacket potatoes.
