Pasta and Cheese Casserole

A popular American dish is a macaroni and cheese. The combination of delicate pasta with a creamy cheese flavor makes this dish a favorite among adults and children on all continents.

Ingredients

  • Pasta – 400 g
  • Cheddar cheese – 85 g
  • Semi-hard cheese – 85 g
  • Mozzarella cheese – 85 g
  • Wheat flour – 30 g
  • Butter – 60 g
  • Milk – 1 l
  • Salt – 2 teaspoon
  • Ground black pepper – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Nutmeg – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Sweet paprika – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil – 1 teaspoon

Directions

  1. Boil the pasta in salted water for 3 minutes less than indicated on the package. The pasta should be aldente (slightly undercooked).
  2. Drain the pasta, add 2 tablespoon. tablespoons of olive oil and stir.
  3. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat and add the flour, stirring constantly so that the flour does not burn. Fry for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually pour in 1 liter of milk, stirring occasionally. Cook over low heat for 7-8 minutes until lightly thickened, continuing to stir.
  5. Turn off the heat and let cool for 3 minutes. Then add 1 teaspoon of salt, grated nutmeg, and add black pepper.
  6. Add three types of cheese in turn, stirring constantly. Make sure there are no lumps – the cheese should melt. Leave for 1.5 tablespoon. tablespoons of grated cheese of all three types, to sprinkle on the pasta before baking.
  7. Add the pasta to the cheese sauce and mix thoroughly.
  8. Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and spread the pasta and cheese evenly.
  9. Sprinkle the pasta with three grated kinds of cheese and sweet paprika. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C and place the casserole for 20 minutes, until a light golden crust forms.
  10. The pasta and cheese casserole is ready.
