Ingredients

  • 350 g pasta (macaroni)
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 cloves garlic)
  • 1 onion (s)
  • 125 g bacon, diced
  • 400 g tomato (s), chunky (can)
  • 1 teaspoon chilli pepper (s), dried from the mill (or fresh chilli pepper / chilli powder)
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 basil leaves, fresh
  • Parmesan, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles al dente.
  2. Drain the tomatoes on a sieve. Finely chop or crush the onion and garlic and fry in oil until translucent. Add the bacon and fry for 2-3 minutes. Put the tomatoes in the pan with the bacon, season with chilli, pepper and salt (be careful: the bacon is often very salty) and simmer for a few minutes. Cut the basil into fine strips.
  3. Serve the pasta with the sauce and sprinkle the basil strips on top. Serve with freshly grated parmesan.
