  • 100 g pork belly, smoked
  • 2 ½ liters water

Instructions

  1. Wash soup greens, cut into cubes. Peel and wash the potatoes and also cut them into large cubes. Wash the savoy cabbage, cut into pieces.
  2. Heat the water and add the smoked pork belly. If you don`t like bacon, you can leave it out, but it gives the soup a good flavor. Add the soup greens, potatoes and the chopped savoy cabbage. Let simmer for about 30-40 minutes.
  3. Remove the bacon and strain the soup through a sieve with larger holes. I think the consistency is very good, not too fine and not too coarse. You can also use a blender if necessary, but be careful, otherwise the soup will become slimy. Or just a potato masher, but I haven`t tried that. Season with salt, a little pepper and, depending on your taste, with granular broth.
  4. Frankfurter or beef sausages, which are heated in the finished soup, go well with it. If you like it, you can also eat the pork belly with it.
  5. In the past, we didn`t have sausages with it, but rather small apple pancakes afterwards.
