Potatoes Stewed with Meat and Mushrooms

Potatoes, stewed with meat and mushrooms, are a simple, hearty, and delicious dish from the available products. Stewed potatoes will fit well into the everyday menu, as they cook quickly and easily!

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Pork (or other meat) – 350 g
  • Champignons – 250 g
  • Potatoes – 800 g
  • Large onions – 1 pc.
  • Sour cream – 50 g
  • Sunflower oil – 40 ml
  • Water – 250 ml
  • Provencal dry herbs (or a mixture of other herbs) – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Peel the onion and cut into large half rings or quarter rings.
  2. Heat the sunflower oil in a saucepan. Fry the onion until transparent.
  3. Cut the pork into medium-sized pieces.
  4. Add meat to onions.
  5. Fry the meat and onions over high heat, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes.
  6. Remove the skin from the mushroom caps, remove the dirt from the legs. Chop the mushrooms not too finely.
  7. Fry the mushrooms in a skillet with a little oil for about 3 minutes.
  8. Transfer the fried mushrooms to a saucepan with the meat and onions. Add sour cream. Add salt, black pepper, and dry Provencal herbs.
  9. Stir and simmer over low heat while preparing potatoes.
  10. Peel the potatoes and cut them coarsely enough.
  11. Add potatoes to a saucepan.
  12. Pour in boiled water to cover half of the saucepan. Add salt, taking into account that the meat with mushrooms has already been salted.
  13. Simmer potatoes with meat and mushrooms at first over high heat for 5-7 minutes. Then cover, reduce heat to low, and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are completely cooked for about 30 minutes.
  14. Serve hot potatoes with meat and mushrooms immediately after cooking.
