Puff Pastry Khachapuri

Caucasian khachapuri are round, oval or square, with an open or closed filling, fried or baked. Traditionally, soft and tender dough for khachapuri is kneaded on yogurt or other fermented milk product. But they also make khachapuri from puff pastry. The recipe for khachapuri with puff pastry cheese will be quite simple if you use ready-made dough.

  • Puff pastry – 500 g
  • Eggs – 1 pc.
  • Imeretian cheese – 500 g
  • or suluguni cheese – 500 g
  • or feta cheese – 500 g

Directions

  1. Products for puff pastry khachapuri in front of you.
  2. Turn on the oven, preheat to 180 degrees. Defrost the dough according to the instructions. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
  3. Place the cheese in a bowl. Add the chicken egg, mix everything well. The filling is ready.
  4. Roll out flat cakes 3-5 mm thick from the puff pastry.
  5. Place the filling of grated cheese and lightly beaten eggs in the middle. Fold the edges of the flatbread into an envelope and mold so that the filling in the middle remains uncovered. So blind all the khachapuri.
  6. Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil. Place prepared khachapuri on a baking sheet.
  7. Place the baking sheet on the middle shelf. Bake the puff pastry khachapuri in the oven until tender (about 20-25 minutes).
  8. Khachapuri with puff pastry cheese is ready. Grease ready-made puff pastry khachapuri if desired (1-2 teaspoon).
  9. Puff pastry khachapuri can be served.
