Ingredients

  • 200 g bacon
  • 1 medium onion (s), diced
  • 1 cup water
  • 700 g applesauce
  • 3 carnation (s)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 handful rice
  • 1 head red cabbage
  • 1 dash apple cider vinegar or herb vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Dice the onion, cut the red cabbage into strips and set aside.
  2. Leave the bacon in the pan, add the onions and sweat. Remove the bacon. Deglaze with a cup of water and season with salt and pepper. Add half of the finely chopped red cabbage. Add the cloves, bay leaves, sugar and then add the other half of the red cabbage. Press something down and spread a handful of rice on top. Close the pressure cooker. As soon as the valve moves, boil for 10 minutes. Turn down the stove.
  3. Now open the saucepan and mix in the applesauce and vinegar. Let simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Remove the cloves and bay leaves before serving.
