Rice Casserole with Cheese and Ham

A hearty ham and cheese rice casserole is a great option for lunch. Preparing a casserole according to this recipe is very simple, and if you use pre-cooked rice, then very quickly!

Ingredients

  • Boiled rice – 400 g
  • Mozzarella cheese – 100 g
  • Parmesan cheese – 100 g
  • Cream cheese – 100 g
  • Ham – 100 g
  • Milk – 150 ml
  • Carrots – 1 pc.
  • Chicken egg – 2 pcs.
  • Parsley – 2-3 sprigs
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Vegetable oil – 5 g for lubricating the mold

Directions

  1. Prepare all the ingredients for the ham and cheese rice casserole.
  2. Boil the rice, following the instructions on the package. To get 400 g of cooked rice, boil about 170 g of raw rice in salted water. Drain the water from the boiled rice and put the rice in a bowl.
  3. Cut the ham into small cubes and spread over the rice. Grate the carrots on a medium grater. Simmer the carrots in a frying pan for 5 minutes, adding 2 tablespoon to the carrots. spoons of water. Transfer the carrots to a bowl with the rest of the ingredients.
  4. Finely chop the parsley with a knife and add to the bowl. Mix all the ingredients well.
  5. Lubricate the baking dish with vegetable oil using a silicone brush. Place the rice and the rest of the ingredients in a baking dish.
  6. Let’s prepare the fill. To do this, mix milk and eggs in a bowl. Beat them with a whisk, add salt and pepper.
  7. Parmesan and mozzarella cheese on a medium grater put in the filling. We will also put cream cheese in the filling. (I had cream cheese with herbs.) Mix all the ingredients of the filling well.
  8. Pour the filling over the rice, spreading it evenly over the entire surface. We send the form with the casserole to the oven preheated to 200 degrees for 30 minutes. Rice, ham, and cheese casserole is ready!
