Ingredients

  • 5 medium potato (s)
  • 6 egg (s)
  • 5 small carrot (s), very small or one very large
  • 1 small Can (s) peas
  • 6 pickled cucumber (s)
  • 0.5 ½ cucumber (s)
  • 400 g roast pork cold cuts, alternatively boiled ham
  • 1 bunch spring onion (s)
  • 400 ml mayonnaise
  • Dill
  • parsley
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes and carrots soft, the eggs hard and leave to cool.
  2. In the meantime, dice both types of cucumber and the cold cuts very small, drain the peas, chop the herbs and cut the spring onions into small rings.
  3. Remove the skin from the cooled ingredients and also dice them very small. Mix everything with the mayonnaise and season with salt. Let it steep for at least 2 hours, season to taste again, if necessary add a little more cucumber water.
  4. I made this salad with a Russian friend who lived in Moscow for the rest of her life and prepared it every New Year`s Eve / New Year. No pepper is added to this family recipe, but it is certainly no less tasty, if it is.
