Fill up milk with water to 125 ml and bring to a boil with butter, salt and sugar in a saucepan. Sprinkle in semolina and stir until the mixture loosens from the bottom of the pan as a lump.
Let it cool down, then add the egg, finely dice the ham and also mix it with the semolina.
Shape dumplings and let them steep in boiling salted water for about 10 minutes. Take it out with a slotted ladle, add to meat stock and serve.
