Solyanka with Chicken and Hunting Sausages

Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • Chicken – 0.5 pcs.
  • Hunting sausages – 150 g
  • Smoked chicken – 0.5 pcs.
  • Potatoes – 4 pcs.
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Carrots – 1 pc.
  • Tomatoes – 4-5 pcs.
  • or tomato paste – 2 tbsp
  • Pickled cucumbers – 2-3 pcs.
  • Greens to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Vegetable oil – 30 ml
  • Bay leaf – 1 pc.
  • Sour cream (for serving) – to taste
  • Lemon (for serving) – to taste
  • Water – 3-4 l

Directions

  1. Wash the chicken. Put in a saucepan, cover with cold water, put on fire, bring to a boil, remove the foam. Cook over the lowest heat, covered, until tender.
  2. Meanwhile, cut the cucumbers into cubes.
  3. Peel and wash onions and carrots. Grate carrots, cut onion into cubes.
  4. Wash the tomatoes, grate.
  5. Peel potatoes, wash, cut into pieces.
  6. Peel and dice hunting sausages.
  7. Remove the chicken from the broth, remove the bones. Slice.
  8. Chop the smoked chicken.
  9. Place the meat and sausages in the broth. Add potatoes. Cook for 20 minutes.
  10. Preheat a frying pan, pour in vegetable oil. Place the onions and carrots. Simmer vegetables over medium heat, stirring for 2-3 minutes. Add tomatoes or tomato paste.
  11. Mix everything, simmer over low heat for 2 minutes.
  12. Add cucumbers and a little broth.
  13. Simmer all together for 5 minutes on the smallest heat.
  14. Put the roast in a saucepan. Season with salt and pepper, add bay leaf. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
  15. Solyanka with chicken and hunting sausages is ready. Serve with sour cream, fresh herbs and a slice of lemon.
