Stewed Sauerkraut with Meat

Servings: 4-5

Ingredients

  • Pork – 500 Grams
  • Sour cabbage – 400 Grams
  • Sauerkraut – 300 Grams
  • Fresh cabbage – 300 Grams
  • Onion – 2 Pieces
  • Bay leaf – 3 pieces
  • Tomatoes – 4 Pieces (or 4 tablespoons tomato paste)
  • Vegetable oil – 50 Milliliters
  • Spices – To taste

Directions

  1. First of all, fry chopped onion in vegetable oil. Add pieces of meat and fry until the liquid comes out and evaporates. Spices to taste.
  2. Now we lay the cabbage – first sauerkraut and sour, so that it warms up a little and starts up the juice, and then we lay the cabbage on top. Simmer under the lid until the cabbage settles – about 20 minutes.
  3. Now add chopped tomatoes or tomato paste, spices, lavrushka and vegetable oil. Simmer for another 20 minutes, until the cabbage is soft.
  4. In order not to burn, you can periodically add a little water or broth throughout the cooking.
  5. This is how the finished dish will look like.
