Strudel with Meat, Onions and Cheese

An appetizing strudel with minced meat, fried onions and cheese is a hearty pastry for lunch or dinner. A rosy crispy crust, which hides juicy filling and melting dough in your mouth – such a snack strudel.

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • Flour – 300 g
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Water – 125 ml
  • Vegetable oil – 3 tbsp
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon

For filling:

  • Minced meat – 400 g
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Soy sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Sugar – 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil – 60 ml
  • Hard cheese – 80 g
  • Bread crumbs – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Prepare the required ingredients.
  2. Prepare the dough.
    Pour boiled water at room temperature, sunflower oil into a bowl beat in an egg and add salt.
  3. Mix the combined ingredients with a spoon or whisk.
  4. Add flour.
  5. Knead a dough that will easily hold the shape of a ball. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and set aside.
  6. Prepare the filling.
    Peel the onion and cut into half rings.
  7. Heat the sunflower oil in a frying pan and fry the onion in it until transparent. Then pour the soy sauce and sugar on the onion.
  8. Continue to fry the onions over high heat for another 2-3 minutes. Transfer the finished onion from the pan to a plate.
  9. Add a little oil to the same frying pan, heat it and put the minced meat.
  10. Fry the minced meat over high heat, season with salt and pepper until tender (about 10-12 minutes).
  11. Grate hard cheese on a coarse grater.
  12. Turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees.
    Roll out the spaced dough on a floured table into a thin rectangle or square. Roll out the dough as thin as you can.
  13. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on the surface of the rolled dough.
  14. Then spread the minced meat and onions over the entire surface of the dough.
  15. Sprinkle the filling with grated cheese on top.
  16. Roll the filled dough into a roll.
  17. Brush the roll with the yolk.
  18. Bake strudel with minced meat in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 35-40 minutes.
  19. Strudel with meat, onions and cheese is ready. Let it cool slightly, then cut into pieces and serve.
