Ingredients

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 2 onion (s), chopped
  • 2 bell peppers, diced
  • 2 cans tomato (s)
  • 1 can corn
  • 3 clove (s) garlic, diced
  • 100 g olives, reen, diced
  • 1 tablespoon caper apples, diced
  • 2 chilli pepper (s)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoon salt
  • Black pepper
  • 150 g cheese, old, rated Gouda or Cheddar cheese
  • 150 g corn rits, (fine) or polenta flour
  • 400 ml milk
  • 20 g butter

Instructions

  1. Fry the onions, minced meat, diced paprika and garlic in a little oil, then add the tomatoes with juice, corn, chillies, caper apples, salt and pepper and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove the chilli peppers, add the grated cheese, stir and, as soon as it has melted, pour the mixture into a buttered casserole dish.
  2. Add the corn grits to the hot milk, add salt, continue heating and stir constantly until a solid paste has formed. Pour some more milk if necessary. Finally, mix in twenty grams of butter and pour everything onto the mince mixture in the mold. Bake in the oven at 170 degrees for 40 minutes.
