The Easiest Chocolate Cupcake

This simple cake recipe was invented a long time ago in a New York restaurant. Delicious but unusually simple chocolate cake is baked with dark chocolate added to the dough.

Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • Black bitter chocolate (55-80%) – 300 g
  • Butter – 200 g
  • Eggs – 5 pcs.
  • Sugar – 1 glass
  • Flour – 2 tbsp
  • Cocoa powder – 2 tbsp

Directions

  1. Grease one large (23 cm diameter) dish (for example, with a removable bottom) or 6 portion (ceramic) molds with butter. Sprinkle with cocoa powder. Shake off excess powder by turning the form upside down.
  2. Melt the chocolate with butter in a water bath or in the microwave, stirring occasionally, until smooth. Set aside to cool.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until frothy.
  4. Then add the chocolate-butter mixture there.
  5. Sift flour. Add sifted flour to the mass, mix.
  6. Turn on the oven. Pour the dough into the prepared mold (or molds).
  7. Cover tightly with foil on top, place in a deep baking sheet, pour in enough water so that its level reaches half of the sides of the form. Bake the cake at 175 ° C for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  8. Then remove the cake pan from the baking sheet, remove the foil. Cool it down and take it out of the mold (you don’t need to remove the cake from the portion molds – they look good when served). A simple chocolate cake is ready.
  9. Try to find the best chocolate for this cake. Ideally French, Italian or Spanish. Its taste plays a decisive role here – and even if chocolate turns out to be expensive, then adding an additive to your plate, you will not regret the money spent. Bon Appetit!
