Turkish Tortillas

One of the options for Turkish flatbread. Delicious, good bread substitute. With filling it is an appetizer or snack, and with honey it is almost a dessert. The recipe is very simple, try it, you will like it!

Ingredients

  • Flour – 600 g
  • Water (warm) – 310 ml
  • Dry yeast – 2 teaspoon
  • Sugar – 1 tbsp
  • Sour cream (10%) – 150 g
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp + for lubrication
  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Butter – 30-40 g
  • Fresh parsley – 1 bunch

Directions

  1. As usual, we prepare all the products. The water is warm, sifted flour.
  2. Pour sugar, yeast and 1 tablespoon of flour into warm water. Stir and let stand for a couple of minutes to let the yeast “disperse”.
  3. Add salt to sour cream, mix, whisk slightly, and pour in vegetable oil.
  4. Combine flour and liquid in a kneading bowl.
  5. Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes. The dough is soft, elastic and does not stick to hands.
  6. Immediately divide the dough for tortillas into 12 equal parts (100 g each). Cover with plastic wrap and let stand on the table for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Now we form cakes, the dia is 17-20 cm. I stretch the workpiece on a large plate greased with vegetable oil.
  8. It is very convenient to transfer from a plate to a frying pan. Fry over medium heat on both sides for 1 minute (maybe a little more). Before turning over, grease the cake with vegetable oil.
  9. Grease the finished cakes with butter and chopped parsley. Fragrant!
