Ingredients

  • 12 apples, firm, fleshy, e.g., Jonah Gold or Boskop
  • 2 lemon (s)
  • 200 g marzipan paste
  • 100 g sultanas
  • 50 g almond sticks
  • 4 cl calvados
  • 4 cl apple juice
  • 60 g butter
  • 4 cl maple syrup
  • Vanilla sauce, homemade
  • water

Instructions

  1. Bring the sultanas with the apple juice and the calvados to the boil briefly and allow to cool.
  2. Squeeze the lemons and add them to a bowl of water with the juice. Wash the apples, cut out the core and then add the apples to the lemon water.
  3. Knead the marzipan mass with the sultanas, apple juice stock, almond sticks and maple syrup vigorously. Shape the mixture into thin sausages and fill the apples with it. Place the apples on a baking sheet and put 5 g butter on each apple.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 175 ° C for about 30 minutes. The apples are ready when the peel pops open and there is no resistance to piercing.
  5. Mix the leaked liquid with the vanilla sauce.
  6. Arrange the baked apples with the sauce and serve.
