Ingredients

  • 350 grams sugar
  • 200 ml water
  • 1 vanilla pod, scrape out the pulp
  • 2 banana (s), ripe, peeled and mashed
  • 750 ml vodka

Instructions

  1. Make a simple syrup from sugar and water. To do this, mix and bring to a boil over a medium flame, stirring constantly. When the liquid is clear, remove it from the fire and add the vanilla pulp and the pod. Allow to cool slightly. Put the mashed bananas in a clean container. Add the warm syrup and vodka. Cap the jar and leave in a cool, dark place for three to four days. Shake or stir once or twice a day to prevent the fruit mass from clumping.
  2. Pour the mixture through a fine sieve. Throw away the solid parts. The liqueur is still cloudy. Cap the jar and let stand until the liquid is clear. But do not move the bottle any more! Draw off the clear liquid into a clean container. Seal it and let it mature for another month. If more sediment forms, drain the liquid again before serving.
  3. Makes about 1 liter.
