Beans in Tomato-Honey Sauce

Canned beans are stewed with tomatoes and honey, with the addition of pieces of ham. Served as a side dish.

Ingredients

  • White beans, canned – 500 g
  • Ham (diced) – 120 g
  • Canned tomatoes without skin (chopped) – 400 g
  • Garlic (chopped) – 2 cloves
  • Water – 1 glass
  • Honey – 2 tbsp
  • Balsamic vinegar – 2 tbsp
  • Thyme – 1 sprig
  • Dried red pepper – 1 pinch
  • Salt
  • Fresh parsley (chopped)

Directions

  1. Fry the ham in a large, thick saucepan until brown.
  2. Add garlic, water, and tomatoes to a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  3. Put the beans in a saucepan, add honey, vinegar, thyme, and pepper. Cook for about 20 minutes. Salt the finished dish to taste. Serve the beans sprinkled with parsley.
