Ingredients

  • 1 kg green beans (frozen)
  • 600 g tomato (s)
  • 3 onion (s)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • salt and pepper
  • thyme
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 20 ml cream
  • 10 ml water
  • 250 g blue cheese, mild 60% F.i.T. (or cream ouda, rated)
  • 4 beef steak (s) 150 g each
  • some olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cook the beans in a little salted boiling water, rinse with cold water and drain.
  2. Brew, peel and core the tomatoes and dice the pulp. Peel and finely chop the onions and garlic.
  3. Heat the oil in a large pan and sauté the onions. Transfer half of it into a small saucepan. Add the garlic and thyme to the onions in the pan and sauté briefly. Fold in the diced tomatoes and beans and heat for 5 minutes.
  4. Now pour the cream-water mixture into the onions in the pot and let the cheese melt in it over a mild heat. Stir every now and then, season with pepper.
  5. Fry the steaks for 3 to 4 minutes per side (or longer if you like) in a non-stick pan with a few drops of oil.
  6. Serve with the beans and pour the cheese sauce over it.
