Ingredients

  • 0.5 ½ onion (s), diced
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 10 grains allspice
  • 2 liters water
  • 0.5 cl ½ vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 kg minced meat, mixed
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 large bottle (s) malt beer, each 0.5 l
  • 1 egg (s)
  • Beef broth
  • Sauce thickener, darker

Instructions

  1. Mix the minced meat well with the egg, salt, pepper, mustard and diced onion. Then form dumplings out of it.
  2. Bring the water to the boil with bay leaves, allspice grains, salt, pepper, 1 teaspoon beef broth, 1/2 l malt beer and the vinegar. Then put in the dumplings. As soon as the balls float up, they`re done. Take out, strain the brew and then add the rest of the malt beer. Bring to the boil and season again with a little beef broth and, if necessary, a little sugar. Then bring to the boil again and thicken with a sauce thickener as required.
  3. Serve with boiled potatoes.
  4. Tips: There is a certain whistle if you simply add 1 teaspoon of lilac mushrooms.
  5. The same way of preparation is also great for carp. Simply prepare everything in the same way, just swap the dumplings for carp and then add onion rings to the sauce.
