Instructions

  1. At the beginning, bring the ingredients for the syrup to the boil in a small saucepan and refrigerate.
  2. For the filling, roughly chop the walnuts and mix with the sugar.
  3. Combine the ingredients for the dough in the order in which they are made and knead into a dough. (As soon as the dough is no longer sticking to the key, stop adding flour.)
  4. Shape the dough into walnut-sized pieces (makes about 16 pieces). Make an indentation in the middle with your thumb and add some of the filling. Roll up the balls and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 15-25 minutes.
  6. Dip the hot balls in the cold syrup for 3-4 seconds and remove them. Sprinkle with cinnamon as needed.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
