Bohemian Braised Cabbage

White cabbage can be used to prepare many varied and delicious dishes. We offer you a recipe for a very tasty side dish of white cabbage – cabbage stewed in Bohemian style with bacon.
Ingredients
- White cabbage – 2 kg
- Smoked bacon – 100 g
- Onions – 200 g
- Vegetable oil – 60 g
- Salt – 2-2.5 teaspoon
- Ground black pepper – 0.5 teaspoon
- Sugar – 3 teaspoon
- Juice of half a lemon
- Coriander (seeds) – 1 teaspoon
- Flour – 3-4 teaspoon
Directions
- We prepare products for stewed cabbage with bacon. 200 grams of onions, peel, wash, and cut into small cubes. Cut 100 grams of smoked bacon into medium-sized pieces.
- Thinly chop two kilograms of cabbage.
- In a deep frying pan or in a saucepan with a thick bottom, heat 60 grams of vegetable oil, put bacon, onions in the pan, and fry until the onions are transparent.
- Put chopped cabbage, stir, cover, and simmer cabbage with bacon and onion over low heat, stirring from time to time, for about 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, add 2 teaspoons of salt, half a teaspoon of ground black pepper, one teaspoon of lightly chopped cilantro seeds, 3 teaspoons of sugar, juice of half a lemon. We also send 3 teaspoons of flour there and mix everything well. Cover with a lid and leave the cabbage to simmer over low heat for another 7-10 minutes.
- We put the cooked bohemian cabbage in a deep dish and serve it to the table as an independent dish or as a side dish for meat.
