Bruschetta with Figs and Blue Cheese

Bruschetta is an appetizer made from a slice of toasted bread filled with a filling of two or three ingredients that match perfectly to taste. Like this bruschetta with fig jam, a slice of blue cheese, and a leaf of fresh basil. The presentation of the appetizer may not be the most sophisticated and rather simple, but its taste will surely turn your head. An amazing combination of sweet figs and tart blue cheese, bright basil taste, and crispy bread. This appetizer is great for a festive treat.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Art. olive oil
  • Half baguette, cut into 16 slices
  • 2 tbsp fig jam (you can use plum, apricot, etc.)
  • 120 g blue cheese, cut into pieces
  • Torn fresh basil leaves for serving

Directions

  1. Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the baguette slices and cook on both sides until golden brown and crisp, about 8 minutes.
  3. Let cool, then brush with a little fig jam.
  4. Top with a slice of blue cheese.
  5. Sprinkle with basil.
