Ingredients

  • 1 kg Brussels sprouts, outer leaflets removed, some the stalk cut off
  • 1 tablespoon rapeseed oil
  • 60 g smoked bacon, fat, diced
  • 125 ml water
  • a bit salt
  • some nutmeg, freshly grated
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon cold water for the cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil, leave the bacon in it and remove it. Briefly heat the Brussels sprouts in it, then add water, salt and nutmeg and cook covered over a low heat for approx. 30 minutes. Then bind with the cornstarch mixed in the water and season with salt and nutmeg.
