A hearty and original dish – delicious syrniki with peas. Such cheesecakes are tender, airy, with a ruddy crust and quite interesting taste. They can be prepared either sweet, simply by adding sugar, or in a savory, snack version.
Ingredients
Cottage cheese – 200 g
Dry peas – 100 g
Semolina – 2 tbsp
Egg – 1 pc.
Salt to taste
Vegetable oil (for frying) – 3 tbsp
Directions
Put the peas in a deep bowl, add water and leave for about 12 hours. Then drain the water, transfer the peas to a deep saucepan and cover with clean water. Put on medium heat, bring to a boil and cook for about 50-60 minutes, until peas are soft. Then drain the liquid from the boiled peas and cool slightly.
Transfer cottage cheese to a blender bowl. Add boiled peas. Beat in an egg and add salt. Beat everything on a high speed blender until smooth. Transfer the resulting mass to a deep bowl, add the semolina and stir.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. With wet hands, form small syrniki from the curd-pea mass and put in the pan. Fry the syrniki over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Unsweetened cottage cheese pancakes with peas are ready. We serve them to the table, adding sour cream if desired.
