Ingredients

  • 2 slices feta cheese, approx. 150 g each
  • some pepper, freshly ground
  • 4 basil leaves, fresh
  • 1 sprig oregano, fresh
  • 2 shallot (s)
  • some olive oil
  • 2 slices farmer`s bread (s)
  • 0.5 ½ bunch parsley, fresh

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to top / bottom heat 200 ° C, convection 180 ° C, gas mark 3.
  2. Season the feta cheese with pepper on both sides. Finely chop the basil and oregano. Peel the shallots and cut into fine cubes. Mix the herbs and shallots together, roll the cheese in them and press the mixture on well.
  3. Brush two sufficiently large sheets of parchment paper with a little olive oil and place the cheese pieces on top. Drizzle with a little oil and fold the paper over the cheese slices and seal tightly.
  4. Place the parcels on the baking sheet with the paper seam facing down and bake in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese begins to melt. Press lightly to check whether the cheese is soft.
  5. Toast the bread slices until golden brown and drizzle with a few drops of olive oil. Roughly chop the parsley. Sprinkle the bread slices with the chopped parsley. Take the cheese out of the paper and place on the bread. Serve immediately.
