Wonderful herring forshmak. Forshmak is made from herring with onion, apple, boiled egg, butter. Excellent cold appetizer

Ingredients

  • Salted herring – 1 pc.
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Boiled egg – 1 pc.
  • Apple – 1 pc.
  • White bread – 1 piece
  • Butter – 2 tbsp
  • Apple cider vinegar – 1.5-2 teaspoon
  • Black bread (for serving)

How to make herring forshmak

Directions

  1. Peel the onion and cut into small wedges.
  2. Pour vinegar on the onion.
  3. Then pour over with water (1-2 teaspoon). Leave on for 15 minutes.
  4. Cut off the crusts from the bread, cut the pulp into slices. Pour boiled water over the bread.
  5. Peel the herring. Separate the fillet. Cut into large pieces.
  6. Peel the apple, cut, remove the seeds.
  7. Put apples, onions, peeled boiled egg, bread and herring into a food processor. Grind everything. You can also grind with a meat grinder.
  8. Add butter and grind again.
    Put on a plate and refrigerate to thicken the forshmak.
  9. Cut black bread into triangles and fry lightly.
  10. Using a pastry bag (or just a spoon), put the forshmak on the bread. Decorate.
  11. Herring forshmak is ready.
