Herring and Bean Forshmak (and Dishes with Forshmak)

Thanks to the apple and beans, the forshmak taste is delicate. The presence of herring is felt, but not dominant. Forshmak can be used to prepare delicious snack dishes.

Ingredients

  • Boiled white beans – 1 glass
  • (you can take canned beans, drain the liquid)
  • Lightly salted herring – 0.5 pcs.
  • Sweet and sour apple – 0.5 pcs.
  • Onions – 1 small onion
  • Hot red pepper – to taste (I took half)
  • Ground black pepper
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp
  • Lemon – 0.5 pcs.
  • Parsley and dill – 3-4 sprigs

How to make herring and bean forshmak

Directions

  1. Remove the skin from the herring and remove the seeds. Chop the fillet.
    Peel the apple and cut into small cubes. Sprinkle the apple with lemon juice.
    Pepper seeds and chop finely. Chop the greens. Cut the onions into small cubes.
  2. Put everything in a blender, add oil and grind. Add ground black pepper to the herring forshmak, mix.

Snack Sandwiches with Forshmak.

  1. Spread slices of Borodino or toast bread with forshmak. Fold in 4 pieces.
  2. Cut into small pieces with a sharp knife. Top with dill, radishes, cherry tomatoes. I liked the toast sandwiches better. When they stand a little and are soaked in forshmak, they become very soft, like snack cakes.

Potato Milfey with Forshmak

  1. Boil large potatoes in their skins. When cool, peel and cut into 1/2-inch slices.
  2. Lubricate the slices with forshmak and arrange in a pyramid of 4-5 pieces. sprinkle with paprika on top.

Pancakes with Forshmak

  1. Bake thin pancakes.
