Greek Pumpkin

Delicious Greek dish – pumpkin with basil, olive oil and garlic. Pumpkin in Greek will become one of the favorite dishes of this vegetable, I assure you!

Ingredients

  • Pumpkin – 400 g
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Tomato paste – 1 teaspoon
  • Dried basil – 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp
  • Water – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Let’s prepare all the products for the baked greek pumpkin. It is better to take a pumpkin of sweet varieties, I have a nutmeg.
  2. Peel the pumpkin.
  3. Cut the pumpkin pulp into large cubes.
  4. Pour olive oil into a pan, heat it up and fry the pumpkin until golden brown on all sides for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add salt, pepper and dried basil to the pan.
  6. Now add tomato paste to the pumpkin.
  7. Pass the garlic through a press and add to the pumpkin as well. Mix the pumpkin with spices.
  8. Transfer the pumpkin to a baking dish.
  9. Pour water into the mold.
  10. Cover the form with foil and bake the pumpkin in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
  11. We take the finished pumpkin out of the oven in Greek and serve as a side dish to the main meat or fish dish. Such a baked pumpkin is good and as a hot appetizer, it should be served with fresh bread.
