Instructions

  1. First mix a sponge cake 2 x each according to the package instructions with 3 eggs, 250 g butter, 30 ml milk and 40 ml mineral water each and bake in a springform pan according to the package instructions and allow to cool.
  2. Bake the third sponge cake again with 3 eggs, 250 g butter, 30 ml milk and 40 ml mineral water in a fireproof, round bowl the dia of which matches the springform pan; it is better if it is a little narrower. That will later be the lid of the burger.
  3. Cover one of the two springform cakes with the couverture, hold back some of the couverture, approx. 20 g.
  4. Mix the frosting, to do this:
  5. Put the icing sugar, 200 g butter, the vanilla sugar and the cream in a bowl and slowly mix with the mixer or whisk, then stir at high speed for about five minutes until creamy. At first the mass is crumbly, but then it combines.
  6. For the tomato slices color a small amount of the icing red and coat 6 egg biscuits with it.
  7. For the eyes, coat 2 egg cookies with white icing and put on the brown M & M`s as pupils.
  8. Third the remaining mass of the icing, mix part with yellow food coloring and a drop of red to a mustard-colored mass, color part light brown with the remaining couverture, color the third third with red and yellow as ketchup colors.
  9. Place the light springform cake on a firm surface, place green rubber snails on top as cucumber slices and then place the chocolate-covered cake on top.
  10. Spread the tomato slices on the chocolate cake and distribute the mustard and the ketchup in between so that it runs down the side.
  11. Now put the last cake on top and cover with the brown icing. Glue the eyes on with icing, then distribute the brittle on the top and press lightly.
  12. The time you need depends on how big the oven is and whether you have one or two springform pans. If all 3 cakes can be baked in one go, the completion time is greatly reduced. I baked the cakes the night before so they could cool down in peace.
  13. When the hamburger is done, it should rest for 4-5 hours to allow the frosting to dry
  14. The whole thing is not difficult at all, it just requires a lot of steady hand and a little sensitivity.
  15. If the chocolate cake tears / breaks something when you abandon it, no problem with a little couverture you can brush it over quickly.
  16. I always add the mineral water to the cakes, which makes them even looser.
