Healthy Pita Bread with Chicken and Vegetables

A light summer pita bread with chicken and vegetables is very similar to shawarma. It is perfect for a healthy snack, you can take it with you for a walk or a picnic. Tasty and healthy.

Ingredients

  • Thin lavash – 2 sheets
  • Chicken breast fillet – 500 g
  • Tomatoes – 1-2 pcs.
  • Bulgarian pepper – 1 pc.
  • Fresh cucumber – 1 pc.
  • Garlic – 2-3 cloves
  • Sour cream – 200 g
  • Greens (parsley, dill) – to taste
  • Adjika – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable oil – for frying

Directions

  1. Prepare chicken breast fillet, fresh tomatoes, peppers, cucumber, herbs, sour cream, adjika, salt.
  2. Thin lavash.
  3. And a couple of garlic cloves.
  4. Start by making the chicken breast. To do this, cut it in half lengthwise and fry in a pan with heated vegetable oil. You do not need to fry for long, just a couple of minutes on each side.
  5. When the chicken is cooked and cooled down a little, cut it into cubes.Take care of vegetables – cut them into strips or as you see fit. I cut the tomatoes into thin slices.
  6. Pepper – in large strips.
  7. Cucumber – cubes.
  8. Make a savory sauce. To do this, finely chop the herbs and garlic.
  9. Add them to sour cream. Add a spoonful of adjika there and mix the sauce well.
  10. Cut a sheet of pita bread into 4 parts.
  11. Place the filling of vegetables, chicken breast and sauce on each sheet of pita bread. You can add a little salt to the filling. Wrap the stuffed pita bread in a roll.
  12. Thus, wrap all 8 pita rolls with chicken and vegetables.
  13. Delicious, fresh, hearty and healthy pita bread with chicken and fresh vegetables (homemade shawarma) is ready.
