Herring Fillet. Forshmak

Make a delicious herring fillet forshmak. For this, in addition to herring, you will need an egg, onion, an apple and quite a bit of spice. Add the oil and a delicate, mouth-watering snack – a real herring forshmak – appears on your table.

Ingredients

  • Lightly salted herring fillet – 500 g
  • Green apple – 100 g
  • Onions – 70 g
  • Chicken egg – 1 pc.
  • White bread (optional) – 100 g
  • Sugar – 1 teaspoon
  • Vinegar 9% – 1 tbsp
  • Ground black pepper – ½ teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
  • Butter (softened) – 50 g
  • Milk (optional) – for soaking herring and bread

Directions

  1. Chop the herring fillet, previously deboned, very finely with a knife. If the herring is too salty, you can pre-soak it in milk for 1 hour.
    You can also add 100 g of white bread soaked in milk to the forshmak. Before mixing bread with herring, squeeze it out.
  2. Pour the chopped herring fillets into a separate container.
  3. Boil the egg in advance (8-10 minutes), cool and peel. Peel the green apple. Peel the onions.
    Finely grate egg, apple and onion.
  4. Add vinegar, ground black pepper, sugar, vegetable oil, butter and mix well until smooth.
  5. Herring fillet forshmak is ready.
