Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 550 g flour
  • 280 ml milk
  • 90 g butter
  • 70 grams sugar
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 25 g fresh yeast

Also:

  • Jam to taste
  • 1 egg yolk for brushing
  • Butter, melted, for brushing
  • Icing sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk and dissolve the yeast in it.
  2. Now make a dough out of all the ingredients and knead it intensively for a good 10-15 minutes. Cover and let rise for an hour.
  3. Do not knead the dough again, just flatten it and cut 12 pieces out of it. Shape these into balls and let rise for another 15 minutes.
  4. Now roll out the dough pieces in an oval shape. Place a teaspoon of jam on the bottom edge, fold the sides together towards the middle and roll up the dough pieces. Place on a deep baking tray, brush with a little water and cover. Let rise again for about 1 hour.
  5. Now heat the oven to 180 ° C O / U heat. Brush the rolls with egg yolk and bake for about 18 minutes. Brush with melted butter while still warm and allow to cool. Dust them with icing sugar when they have cooled down.
