Ingredients

  • 750 g apples, coarsely rated
  • 75 ml rum
  • 1 tablespoon spice mixture (cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg / new spices)

  • 200 g flour (rye flour)
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 2 tablespoon cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Cut the dried fruit into medium-sized pieces and mix with the grated apples, hazelnuts, spices, sugar and rum. Let this mixture stand covered for approx. 12 hours.
  2. Mix wheat flour with rye flour, baking powder and cocoa powder. Add to the fruits with the egg and knead well. If necessary, add a little more flour. Divide the dough into two pieces and shape into wakes. Now lightly dust them with flour, place on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 180 ° C - 200 ° C for about 1 to 1.5 hours.
  3. If you leave the bread wrapped in aluminum foil for a few days, it gets an even more intense flavor.
