Ingredients

  • 500 g minced meat, beef or lamb
  • 300 g noodles, kritharaki
  • 150 g sheep cheese
  • 100 g cheese, rated
  • 400 ml meat broth
  • 1 cup sweet cream
  • 0.75 ¾ Tube / s tomato paste
  • 1 onion (s)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Spice mix for gyros
  • salt and pepper
  • possibly oregano

Kritharaki – Noodle Pan with Minced Meat and Sheep Cheese

Instructions

  1. Season the minced meat well with gyros spice. Cut the sheep`s cheese into cubes, chop the onion and garlic. Fry the minced meat in a large pan with onions and garlic and chop them up. Stir in the tomato paste, add the stock and cream, season with oregano if necessary, bring to the boil. Add the pasta and let it simmer for 15 minutes until the pasta is soft. The mass should not become too firm, so if necessary fill up with water in between.
  2. Pour everything into a baking dish, mix in the sheep`s cheese cubes, sprinkle with grated cheese on top. Slide under the grill until the cheese is brown.
  3. It also tastes very good when zucchini cubes are added to the minced meat with the noodles.
