Macaroons Shortbread

Shortbread cookies with a pattern in the form of Christmas trees.

Ingredients

  • Flour – 2 cups
  • Butter or margarine – 200 g
  • Sugar – 0.5 cups
  • Almond essence – 1-2 drops

    For decoration:

  • Powdered sugar – 1 glass
  • Butter or margarine – 30 g
  • Milk – 1-2 tbsp
  • Green food coloring – 8-10 drops

How to make Christmas macaroons:

Directions

  1. Leave the oil at room temperature until softened. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  2. In a bowl, beat the butter, sugar, and almond essence with a mixer. Add flour.
  3. Form the dough into 2.5 cm balls, place on a baking sheet at a distance of 5 cm from each other.
  4. Bake cookies for 12-15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
  5. In a small bowl, beat the icing sugar, butter, and milk until smooth. Add green dye.
  6. Transfer the mass to a bag, cut off the corner. Decorate the cookies with green icing zigzags.
