Instructions

  1. Peel the onions and cut into wafer-thin rings.
  2. Put the water, sugar, salt and vinegar in a small saucepan and bring to the boil. After boiling, add the oil and pepper and pour the mixture over the onions while they are still hot, so that they lose their sharp taste.
  3. When the marinade has cooled down, place the smoked pork with the onions in the marinade, slice by slice, so that all slices are covered with marinade.
  4. It is best to leave the onion meat in the refrigerator overnight.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
