Ingredients

  • 400 ml water, lukewarm
  • 30 g butter, soft
  • 100 g honey
  • 300 g flour, wheat flour
  • 200 g flour, whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon, leveled cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet yeast (dry yeast)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar - Kulör
  • Cornmeal, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Mix all dry ingredients, then add honey, butter and little by little the lukewarm water (possibly not all) and knead into a smooth dough with the dough hook of the mixer. Continue kneading by hand until the dough is elastic and shiny. Let rise in a covered bowl in a warm place until the volume has doubled.
  2. Knead the dough again briefly, divide into eight portions and roll into long rolls, press the top in corn flour. Place on a baking sheet and let rise again. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake the loaves for 20 to 24 minutes.
  3. This so-called Bushman bread is served with dishes in the Outback steakhouse chain. Add whipped butter, butter whipped very loosely with the mixer. The healthy brown color of the bread is only achieved in the original by food coloring, not by dark flour types. Of course, you can also do it without color - the taste does not change.
