Pizza “Milan”

Each region of Italy has its own pizza recipe. Pizza recipe “Milan” – from the north of Italy, from the region of Lombardy. Traditionally it is prepared with Milano salami and red onion.

Servings: 2-4

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour – 165 grams
  • Water – 165 Milliliters
  • Salt – 1 Pinch
  • Granulated Sugar – 1 Pinch
  • Yeast – 4-5 Grams (pressed)
  • Olive oil – 3 tbsp (2 tablespoons of butter in the dough, 1 tablespoon of oil for sprinkling before baking)
  • Tomato sauce – 200-250 Grams
  • Mozzarella – 100-150 Grams
  • Red onion – 1-2 Pieces
  • Parmesan – 50 Grams
  • Salami “Milano” – 100 grams (or another similar variety)
  • Dry Basil – 3 Grams
  • Tomatoes – 2 Pieces

Directions

  1. Prepare your ingredients.
  2. Put yeast, a pinch of salt, a pinch of sugar in warm water, add two tablespoons of olive oil.
  3. Sift flour.
  4. Knead the dough, cover with plastic foil, let it rest for 1.5-2 hours. During the proofing process, knead twice, at intervals of 30 minutes.
  5. The dough should expand well.
  6. Put the dough on the work surface of the table, dusty with flour, roll into a ball.
  7. Roll out the dough into a cake, arrange the sides.
  8. Apply tomato sauce to the tortilla and send to the oven, preheated to 180-200 degrees for 8 minutes.
  9. While the base is baking, cut the mozzarella into cubes.
  10. Cut the red onion into half rings.
  11. Put the mozzarella, red onion on the pizza, sprinkle with half of the grated Parmesan and put it back in the oven for 8 minutes.
  12. While the pizza is in the oven, cut into thin slices of salami.
  13. Slice the tomatoes thinly.
  14. Put the salami, tomatoes on the pizza, sprinkle with the remaining parmesan, dry basil, drizzle with olive oil and send back to the oven for 5-8 minutes for final baking.
  15. The pizza turned out to be very appetizing, hearty and tasty!
