Puffs with Curd-Lemon Filling

by Editorial Staff

Delicate fragrant puffs with curd-lemon filling are baked very quickly from ready-made puff pastry. This is a great pastry for tea or a treat for unexpected guests.

Cook: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Yeast puff pastry (frozen) – 500 g
  • Cottage cheese (any fat content) – 200 g
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • Vanilla sugar – 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon (zest) – 0.5 pcs.
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Flour (for dusting) – 1-2 tbsp
  • Powdered sugar for decoration (optional) – to taste

Directions

  1. Prepare ingredients for making puffs with curd and lemon filling. Defrost the puff pastry at room temperature.
  2. Mash cottage cheese with sugar and vanilla sugar. Break the egg into a bowl and beat with a fork.
  3. Pour half of the beaten egg into the curd and mix well until smooth.
  4. Remove the zest from the lemon, add it to the curd mass, mix.
  5. Turn on the oven and preheat to 200 degrees. Sprinkle a little flour on the table. Lay out the puff pastry and roll it into a layer. Then cut the dough layer into squares with a side of about 10 cm.
  6. Put a tablespoon of the lemon curd filling in the center of the square. Connect opposite corners of the square above the filling. To prevent the puff from falling apart, the dough can be greased with an egg at the junctio
  7. Connect the remaining two corners of the square to make a filled dough envelope
  8. Cover the baking sheet with parchment. Put puffs on it at a distance from each other.
Brush with the remaining egg and place in a preheated oven. If there is a “convection” mode, turn it on. Bake puffs with cottage cheese for about 10 minutes.
  9. Remove the finished puffs from the oven, cool slightly and serve
  10. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
Bon appetit!
