Ingredients

  • 150 g wholemeal spelled flour
  • 125 g natural yourt, low in fat
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds, for the batter
  • some chia seeds for sprinkling
  • a bit salt

Instructions

  1. Roast the chia seeds briefly in a pan without fat, the seeds then taste slightly nutty.
  2. Mix the flour with baking powder, roasted chia seeds and salt. Mix in the egg, honey and yoghurt.
  3. This makes a soft, sticky batter. Then spread this with a diameter of approx. 20 cm on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, brush with a little water and sprinkle some chia seeds, optionally also black cumin and / or sesame.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees top / bottom heat for about 20 minutes
  5. The flatbread can be excellently filled with gyros, feta and coleslaw, but it also tastes delicious as a side dish for grilling or with a salad.
