Snack Prawns

Snack prawns are prepared in portions in slices of ham, served with sour cream sauce.

Ingredients

  • Large fresh or frozen shrimps – 450 g (30 pcs.)
  • Liquid honey – 1/3 cup
  • Fresh ginger (chopped) – 1 teaspoon.
  • Coconut flakes – 2/3 cup
  • Pine nuts (chopped) – 2/3 cup
  • Prosciutto ham (cut into thin strips) – 90 g
  • Fat sour cream – 200 g
  • Small lime zest – 1 teaspoon.
  • Fresh lime juice

Directions

  1. Soak about 30 wooden sticks in cold water for 30 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, defrost the shrimp if frozen. Peel the shrimp, leaving the tails, rinse under running water, and place on a paper towel.
  3. In a bowl, combine honey and chopped ginger. In another bowl, combine the coconut and pine nuts. String the shrimps on wooden sticks (one for each), brush with the honey mixture, and roll in coconut breading. Wrap each breaded shrimp with a slice of ham.
  4. Home or outdoor grill turn on to preheat to medium temperature. Place the shrimp on the grill and cook until tender, about 5-8 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix sour cream and lime zest, add lime juice (to taste), stir well.
    Serve fried shrimp with sour cream sauce.

Such shrimp kebabs can also be cooked in the oven on a baking sheet under the grill.
