Ingredients

  • 1 roll, stale
  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 12 slices cheese, (Emmentaler or Gouda)
  • 1 onion (s), chopped
  • 1 clove (s) garlic, chopped
  • 3 tablespoon parsley, chopped
  • 2 egg (s)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • Paprika powder, noble sweet
  • marjoram
  • breadcrumbs
  • Clarified butter, or oil
  • 2 large tomato (s)

Instructions

  1. Soak the rolls, squeeze them out and place in a bowl with the minced meat. Finely dice 4 slices of cheese and add to the meat with onions, garlic, parsley and eggs. Season with salt, pepper, paprika and marjoram and knead well.
  2. Season to taste and form 8 flat minced meat schnitzel (like meatballs) from them. Turn in breadcrumbs (this gives a wonderful, golden brown color when frying).
  3. Preheat the oven to 200 ° (convection 180 °). Fry the schnitzel in hot clarified butter or oil on both sides. Place in an ovenproof dish with the frying stock. Cut the tomatoes into 16 thin slices and place two slices on each schnitzel. Cover each with a slice of cheese. Baked in the oven until the cheese has melted. Serve sprinkled with a little parsley if you like.
  4. Mashed potatoes go very well with it.
