Bread with Cheese and Nuts

Delicious and aromatic bread with cheese and nuts will become your favorite in the fall season when the walnut harvesting begins. However, no one will bother you to cook it at other times of the year, if you have dried nuts available.

Ingredients

  • Dry yeast – 0.5 teaspoon.
  • Water – 120 ml
  • Wheat flour – 1.5 cups
  • Hard cheese – 50 g
  • Walnuts – 60 g
  • Salt – 3 pinches

Directions

  1. Heat the water to 30-35 degrees, but no higher! Pour it into a deep container, add salt, a third of sifted wheat flour, and dry yeast into it. Whisk everything together. You should have a pancake-like batter. Thus, the dough is created. Cover the container with a towel or napkin, leave for 20-25 minutes in a warm place.
  2. An ideal dough forms bubbles on the surface. This means that she is ready. Pour the rest of the sifted flour into it.
  3. Knead an elastic, not too tight dough. Optionally, you can add 1 tbsp vegetable oil and mix. Cover the dough again with a towel or napkin and leave it in a warm place for half an hour to proof.
  4. At this time, grate the hard cheese on a fine grater. Grind the walnuts into dust. After the indicated time, add the crushed cheese and nuts to the bread dough.
  5. Knead the dough again thoroughly so that the additives are evenly distributed over it. Remember to add them only after double proofing, not at the very beginning of the dough creation!
  6. Lubricate the mold with vegetable oil. Put the dough in it and let it rise for 10-15 minutes warm. Then place the dish in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake for about 35-40 minutes, observing the baking surface.
  7. After cooking, remove the loaf of bread from the mold, sprinkle it with cold water from a spray bottle, and immediately cover it with a towel. Leave the bread with cheese and nuts to cool, then cut into pieces, serving.
