“Chebureki” on Batter, with Cabbage and Cheese

An interesting recipe for a tasty dish – fritters with cabbage and cheese! It’s very easy to cook! You can experiment with the filing as well. Today I have some cabbage and cheese. “Liquid chebureki” – that’s how we call this dish at home!

Ingredients

  • Eggs – 3 pcs.
  • Water – 500 ml
  • Flour – 180 g (12 heaping tablespoon.)
  • Vegetable oil – for frying
  • Stewed cabbage – 100 g
  • Hard cheese – 100 g

Directions

  1. Prepare the batter. Add the flour (2-3 tablespoon. each) to the water gradually.  Mix thoroughly so there are no lumps.
  2. Add the eggs and salt. Mix well and leave the dough for a few minutes to allow the gluten contained in the flour to swell.
  3. Pour a small amount of batter into the center of the heated frying pan. You will get a pancake with torn edges.
  4. Put the cabbage and grated cheese immediately on one side of the batter.
  5. Fold the fritter in half. Flip over the “chebureki” several times during the frying process to get a delicious and golden crust.
  6. Before serving, put the chebureki on a paper towel to get rid of excess oil.
