Cherry Yeast Pie

Yeast baked goods are always popular. So today I suggest you bake a yeast dough pie with cherries.

Servings: 6

Cook: 3 hours

Ingredients

  • Cherries – 350 g (with seeds)
  • Wheat flour – 270 g
  • Sugar – 6 tbsp
  • Sour cream – 50 ml
  • Water – 50 ml
  • Sunflower oil – 50 ml
  • Starch – 1.5 tbsp
  • Powdered sugar – 1 tbsp
  • Chicken egg – 1 pc.
  • Egg yolk – 1 pc.
  • Fresh yeast – 20 g
  • Salt – a pinch

Directions

  1. Heat the water a little (to 37 degrees), dilute the yeast in it. Add sugar (4 tablespoons), sour cream, a pinch of salt and an egg. Mix everything until sugar dissolves.
  2. Add some flour (about two thirds).
  3. Let’s mix. We should get a mass connected, but not thick.
  4. Put another 2-3 tablespoon on the table. tablespoons of flour. Put the dough on the flour and continue kneading by hand until the dough is smooth and elastic. If necessary, we will add more flour.
  5. Next, put the lump of dough into a bowl and add butter. Knead again. Thanks to the oil, it will be easier to knead, the dough will be less sticky to your hands.
  6. Leave the finished dough to ripen. This may take an hour or two, depending on the quality of the yeast and the temperature.
  7. While the yeast dough for the pie is ripe, prepare the filling. Wash the cherries, wait until they dry. Let’s extract the seeds from the cherries.
  8. Sprinkle the cherries with sugar (2 tablespoons or to taste) and starch, mix and put in a colander to drain the juice.
  9. When the dough comes up, let’s start shaping the cake. Put two thirds of the dough in a mold, shaping the sides. Pre-grease the form with sunflower oil and sprinkle generously with flour.
  10. From the remaining third of the dough, we will formulate decorations – a pigtail, stripes, flowers, etc.
  11. Put the cherries on the dough in one layer and cover with our decorations.
  12. Lubricate the cherry pie with yolk and put in the oven preheated to a temperature of about 180 degrees. We bake the yeast dough pie until golden brown for about 35-40 minutes.
  13. Sprinkle the finished cherry pie with icing sugar.
