Chicken with Potatoes in the Oven

Oven Chicken with Potatoes – Baked chicken thighs with potatoes, onions, and cheese – a simple but delicious dish!

Cook: 1 hour 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • Chicken thighs – 4 pcs.
  • Potatoes – 1 kg
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Garlic – 3 cloves
  • Milk – 1.5 cups
  • Hard cheese – 50 g
  • Dried onions – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Dried garlic – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Ground paprika – 1 teaspoon
  • Dried thyme – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Vegetable oil – for frying

Directions

  1. Mix together the paprika, dried garlic, dried onion, thyme, black pepper, and half a teaspoon of salt. Grate chicken thighs with the resulting mixture of spices.
  2. Fry chicken thighs in vegetable oil on both sides. Remove the fried chicken from the pan. Drain the excess fat, leaving a little for frying the onion and garlic.
  3. Finely chop the onion. Chop the garlic. In the pan in which the chicken was fried, fry the onion and garlic until transparent. Add 0.5 cups of milk and stir.
  4. Spread the onion and garlic evenly over the bottom of the pan. Please note that in the future, this frying pan will need to be put in the oven, so if your pan is not suitable for these purposes, start putting the food in another existing heat-resistant baking dish.
  5. Cut the potatoes into thin slices. Grate cheese on a fine grater. Spread half the chopped potatoes on top of the sautéed onion and garlic.
  6. Sprinkle potatoes with half of the grated cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Spread the remaining potatoes on top, sprinkle with the remaining grated cheese. Gently pour in 1 glass of milk.
  7. Put the fried chicken pieces on top of the potatoes. Place the skillet with potatoes and chicken thighs on the stove and bring the milk to a boil. Simmer potatoes in milk over medium-low heat for 8-10 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  8. Send the chicken and potatoes to the oven and bake for 45 minutes at 180 degrees.
  9. Then remove the baked chicken thighs with potatoes from the oven and let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
